What is it?

Power supply module for Pi-Zero, Pi-Zero W/WH.Up to 2.4A output current. Even 900mah can work more than 4 hours with zero W.

What makes it special?

It supplies power through bottom of GPIO and does not occupy GPIO pins. Therefore, it’s totally compatible with other piHats. You can use PiSugar2 even when your pi zero has no GPIO header. It’s possible to keep your pi project in the minimum size.

Installing the software

PiSugar2 will actually work straight out of the box, with no software, to power the Pi and for some other basic functionality. However to get the most out of PiSugar2 you really need to install the software packages. For PiSugar2 we have created a Raspbian shell to make it extra simple.

At the command line simply type:

wget http://cdn.pisugar.com/release/Pisugar-power-manager.sh -O- | sh

Then you can visit Raspberrypi:8421

(For example: 192.168.1.1:8421)

Notice：

In the new version, we replaced the power indicator LEDs with the charging indicator LEDs, and added a custom battery charging management function.

PiSugar 2/PiSugar 2pro uses the I2C interface to communicate with Raspberry Pi, the address 0x75 for power IC, the address 0x32 for RTC IC.

Please confirm those addresses do not conflict with any device that you are going to use.

Please read the I2C instruction before manually writing custom data to the register. Invalid data may cause device damage.
